We embarked on a large-scale electrical refit for one of the UK’s premier independently owned commercial furniture manufacturers. The six-week project was initially focused on the production area and mezzanine structure within the warehouse.
During this project we specified and installed:
- New lighting systems complete with automatic controls
- New sub main and distribution boards to feed the production and mezzanine areas
- New small power and busbar system to feed the machines and work benches
Challenges
This project encompassed a broad scope of work with a very tight deadline and so coordinating with the other trades was the key challenge. We had to design and work to a very strict plan but remain adaptable enough to assign resource to other procedures when the opportunity arose.
Results
We succeeded in remaining ahead of plan throughout the project and our flexibility allowed us to help other trades to accelerate their projects by fitting our work around them.
The client was so delighted at this performance that the brought forward plans to remodel the offices and showroom specifically to ensure that they could retain the same contractors. We went on to successfully refurbish these areas immediately after.
